Borrowed Mirrors Reading Circles
Read together. Question together. See differently.
Some of the most consequential conversations begin with a book and a small group of people willing to question what they have taken for granted. Borrowed Mirrors Reading Circles invite readers to explore how inherited assumptions and familiar frameworks shape their understanding of leadership, knowledge, progress, institutions and themselves.
A Reading Circle can take place among friends, within a book club, inside a university, across a professional network or within an organisation's leadership team. Participants do not need to agree with the book. They need curiosity, openness to different perspectives and a willingness to examine the questions it raises.
01 · Start a Reading Circle
Organise a group around the book
If you would like to gather a group of readers, tell us a little about it. This is an invitation to organise a conversation, not an application for accreditation, and you are free to run your circle in the way that suits your group. We will be in touch about next steps and any reading resources that become available.
02 · Join a Reading Circle
Register your interest in joining
If you would like to take part but do not have a group, register your interest below. We do not publish a directory of participants or share your details with anyone. Whether we can suggest a circle depends on what exists near you or online, and we will only make an introduction with your agreement. If no group is available yet, your interest is kept so that we can contact you about future opportunities.
03 · Bring the Book Into Your Organisation
A structured institutional reading conversation
Boards, foundations, universities, leadership teams, businesses, civil society organisations and professional associations can use the book as the basis for a structured conversation about their own frameworks and decisions. Tell us about your context through the hosted conversation form. Facilitation or speaking involvement is subject to discussion and availability.

Questions to begin with
A Borrowed Mirrors Reading Guide is in preparation and will be shared here once it is ready. Until then, these questions offer starting points for discussion. They are prompts for inquiry, and a circle may well conclude that a familiar framework serves it well.
- 01What assumptions have we inherited about what good leadership looks like?
- 02Whose knowledge does our institution trust, and whose knowledge is more easily overlooked?
- 03When might the measures we use to declare success conceal important realities?
- 04What would become possible if we questioned one of our most trusted frameworks?
